WDO / Termite Inspection in Northeast Ohio

Find hidden wood-destroying insect damage before you buy.

What Is a WDO Inspection?

A wood-destroying organism (WDO) inspection, often called a termite inspection, looks for evidence of termites and other wood-destroying insects such as carpenter ants and wood-boring beetles. Subterranean termites are found throughout Ohio, and the damage they cause often goes unnoticed until it’s extensive.

Some mortgage lenders require a WDO inspection before closing, and even when it isn’t required, it’s a smart way to protect one of the biggest purchases you’ll ever make.

What We Look For

  • Mud tubes along foundation walls, piers, and sill plates
  • Damaged, hollow, or blistered wood
  • Frass, wings, and other signs of insect activity
  • Evidence of previous treatments or repairs
  • Conditions that attract wood-destroying insects, like wood-to-soil contact, moisture problems, and debris near the home

If we find evidence of past damage or an active infestation, you’ll have the information you need to request treatment, repairs, or a price adjustment before you buy. A WDO inspection can be added to any home inspection.
