New Construction Home Inspection in Northeast Ohio
A brand-new home deserves an independent second set of eyes.
Why Inspect a New Home?
Even brand-new homes can have defects. Builders work with many subcontractors on tight schedules, and municipal code inspections focus on minimum requirements, not on every detail of workmanship. A new construction inspection from an independent inspector helps make sure the home you’re paying for was built the way it should be.
Lock Home Inspections performs this inspection before your final walkthrough, giving you time to bring any issues to your builder and have them corrected before closing.
What We Look For
We evaluate the completed home’s systems and components, with special attention to the details that are often missed in new construction:
- Roof coverings, flashing, and gutter installation
- Grading and drainage away from the new foundation
- Exterior siding, windows, doors, and sealing
- Electrical outlets, GFCI and AFCI protection, and fixtures
- Plumbing supply and drain lines, fixtures, and water heater installation
- HVAC operation and ductwork
- Attic insulation and ventilation
- Interior finishes, doors, windows, and stairs
Your detailed, easy-to-read report is delivered the same day, with photos of every item we discussed. Building in phases? Ask about our new construction phase inspections.
